Hillcrest Heights woman charged with murdering mother Prince George County police have charged a woman with first degree murder in the Thursday morning death of her mother in their Hillcrest Heights home. Latoya Aiesha Martin, 28, of 3952 26th Ave., was arrested and charged Thursday with first degree murder and first degree assault in connection with the death of her mother Sheila Martin, 53, of the same address. in the 3900 block of 26th Avenue from a resident. When police arrived, they found Latoya Martin outside the home with blood on her clothes. Inside the house, they found Sheila Martin suffering from blunt trauma wounds to her body. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Police initially thought Sheila Martin has been stabbed to death, but now are waiting for the state medical examiner office report on the cause of death, said Cpl. Mike Rodriquez, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department. Rodriquez said the homicide likely stemmed from a domestic dispute, but police are unsure what initiated the incident. Latoya Martin is currently being held at the Prince George County Department of Corrections. She has a preliminary court hearing in Upper Marlboro on April 23. No attorney was listed for her Friday in Prince George County Circuit Court.
